S’Antiga is the name given in Es Mercadal to the building that housed the first girls' school in the village. It is very centrally located with features that make it stand out from the buildings alongside. We were captivated by the singularity of S'Antiga, from its balcony on the front to the interior walls of marés stone, and by its history closely linked to the local community.

The building is conveniently located in Es Mercadal, so midway between Maó and Ciutadella and a perfect enclave for exploring Menorca during the day and enjoying the local lifestyle in the evening.

Theirs will be the first smiles to greet you in S'Antiga. They will welcome you into what will be your home during your holiday in Menorca. Would you like to meet them?

Meet Tomeu

Tomeu describes himself as a Menorcan who loves the island. He has walked along all the island’s paths and trails over the years; you can therefore ask him anything about Menorca, and in particular about archaeological sites, as he loves history.

He lives in Es Mercadal, but was born in the southern part of the island, in Es Migjorn Gran. He has worked in the hotel and catering business for 35 years, so he knows the ropes. As manager of S'Antiga, he is looking forward to assisting you whenever required here in Menorca.

Meet Ester

Ester opened S'Antiga together with Pedro. She will be serving you breakfast and taking care of every little thing to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Her aim is to make you feel comfortable at S'Antiga.

Ester is a very friendly person who has always been able to win over customers over the years in the hotel and catering sector. She has walked all over the island, but what she appreciates most is culture, in all its forms. She can recommend which exhibitions and museums to visit, cultural events to attend, and great places to eat, as she loves fine dining.

is like being at home.

At S'Antiga there are 10 rooms, located on the ground, first and second floors, reached by a gentle Mediterranean-style stairway. We want you to feel perfectly comfortable in these rooms, which is why they are fitted with fully equipped bathrooms (some with a bathtub), writing desk, individually adjustable air-conditioning and Smart TV with internet access. Depending on the type of room selected, the views are either out over the courtyard or the village centre. We can assure you all the rooms are equally impressive. You may arrive at the hotel at any time you wish. Rooms are available from 2pm onwards. If you arrive earlier, we can store your luggage for you. Should it be available, we will be delighted to give you your room. On the day of departure, we will require you to vacate your room by 11am. If you wish to leave later, we will store your luggage for you until required. You might wish to stay in your room (for an extra charge and subject to availability).
